Money magic tricks are among the most popular magic tricks in existence for a compelling reason: What if you really could double your money? Money intrigues people of all ages from the little kid whose grandfather can pull quarters out of his ears to the adult who wishes if only it were possible to change a $1 dollar bill into a $100 bill.
Magic tricks that turn one form of money into another, such as changing a stack of nickels into a stack of dimes satisfy spectators of all ages because, not only is it amazing, it satisfies that primal urge to make money. Similarly, magic tricks involving other peoples’ money are also popular. For example, asking a spectator to give you a $20 bill so that you can make it disappear adds tension to your act. The spectator gives you the money, trusting that you won’t really make it disappear – and then when it vanishes (or you cut it up into shreds), he wonders if you’ll be able to make it reappear (or whole again).
